Chef Nir Mesika Brings Modern Israeli Cuisine to NYC with his Successful Restaurant, Timna

In this video [02:32], Good Morning America features Israeli Chef Nir Mesika, the owner of Timna restaurant in NYC. Voted “Best New Restaurant” in 2015 by USA Today, Timna offers a fusion of traditional Israeli recipes with Mesika’s own modern twist. Mesika began cooking as a child, yet he realized his potential when, after having  sustained a serious injury as an Israeli Defense Forces combat soldier, he switched to work as a cook in the army. Mesika’s goal in opening up Timna restaurant was to “put Israeli cuisine on the global culinary map,” and it looks like he has done it!
